The mandatory evacuation of children has been announced in nine settlements in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine’s Ministry of Reintegration reported on its channel in Telegram.

An appeal for the evacuation from Donetsk Oblast Military Adminstration was considered at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters on mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law.

The ministry noted that the participants in the meeting unanimously voted for the compulsory evacuation of children from nine settlements in Donetsk Oblast that are located near the areas of hostilities.

The settlements were named as Yampil, Zarichne, Torske, Opixyvatka, Nikonorivka, Malynivka, Tikhonivka, Vasyutynske and Rai-Olexandrivka.

Due to the difficult security situation and enemy shelling, 130 children will be forcibly evacuated from these settlements, the ministry said.

The issue of the evacuation of the civilian population from parts of Sumy Oblast was also considered.

Some 1,718 people, including 228 children, have already been evacuated from the five-kilometer danger zone near Sumy Oblast’s border with Russia. There are no people left in 21 settlements of the region.

On July 17, the Defense Council of the Kharkiv Oblast also adopted a decision on the mandatory evacuation of children from nine settlements of the Vovchan community of the Oblast Chuguyiv District. The move is connected with constant shelling by the Russian military.

On July 16, the evacuation of all residents was announced from the settlements of the Velikonovosilkiv community of Donetsk Oblast, which were liberated in June 2023.

A free train has been running in Sumy Oblast since July 15, which travels to Kyiv every day. Residents of the border areas of the Sumy Oblast are using the train to evacuate due to constant shelling by the Russian army.

Kyiv Oblast Military Administration has said it will accommodate all evacuees who apply for housing in a modular town in the oblast’s Vyshgorod District, north of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
