Rejoice: Harry Styles Has Been Writing New Songs While Social Distancing
Harry Styles says that he's written new music while social distancing.
Unfortunately, the former One Direction member didn't specify if or when he would release the new jams. Boo.
There's literally two options that everyone has during this very weird period of social distancing: Stay busy, or go crazy. And since no one wants to lose their damn mind while stuck at home in their 600-square-foot apartment, people are getting creative. Celebs are keeping themselves entertained by hosting concerts on Instagram Live, chatting with other stars about mental health, and of course, working on their own creative projects. Thank gawd for the boredom, because your fave crooner—Harry Styles, natch—just revealed that he's written some new music during his downtime.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Harry said that he's been picking up the good ol' book and pen much more lately. "I’ve been writing so much," he said. "To be honest, I’m doing some of the stuff that I should be doing more often anyway. I should be playing the guitar more. I should be writing poems and lyrics more. So I’ve been doing a lot of that."
Harry predicts a big boom of music releases in the next couple of months. "I think a lot of powerful music is going to come from that," Harry added, "because ultimately you have people who have a need to express themselves through music and writing and film and so many different ways, who are now having a lot of extra time with no distractions. It gives you an ability to have almost like a bird’s-eye view of the world and your life." Sincerely hoping this is true, because my playlist needs rejuvenating.
So will we get new Harry songs in the next few months? Unsure. But will I hold on to my last breath waiting for that to happen? Absolutely. Give the fans what they want, Hazza!
