- We are mourning the loss of a long-time CBS 2 reporter and anchor who injected a little fun into the stories he brought us. Here's how Bob Wallace explained the confusion when a groundhog didn't quite make a decision one year.

BOB WALLACE: Groundhog went around, back through the log, poked his head out the top, came back out, looked around, went back in. Now, does that mean that the shadow he saw there means that there is going to be six more weeks of winter? This shadow you see here doesn't count. That's a microphone shadow. That's an ineligible shadow. The shadow we are looking for is the groundhog shadow. We'll go back up to the booth.

- From 1970 to 1991, Wallace entertained us with his unique storytelling. He even showed off his dance move while learning disco as he was anchoring the noon show. He also did a "Where's Wallace" segment, even doing a live report from the top of the Hancock building. He won several Emmy Awards and was inducted into the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2019.

Bob Wallace was 80 years old. He'll be missed.
