Remember When Wentworth Miller Starred in Mariah Carey's 'We Belong Together' Video?

"We Belong Together" is officially 18 years old!

The second single of her tenth studio album The Emancipation of Mimi (which critics recognize as her epic comeback project and that fans often regard as one of her best in her entire discography), "We Belong Together" broke all sorts of records at the time of its release in March of 2005 and went on to become Mariah's 16th Billboard Hot 100 hit after spending a whopping 14 weeks on the top of the chart. It was also dubbed "the song of the decade" and helped solidify Mariah's place as one of the best-selling recording artists of all time!

While the track itself (a painfully-relatable and heart-wrenching ballad about missing an ex and wanting to get back together) is incredibly iconic, we'd be remiss not to mention that the music video for the song is also an essential part of pop culture history. And in case you forgot, it also featured one of our all-time fave gay heartthrobs (and past Out100 honoree) Wentworth Miller!

Continuing a storyline from the "It's Like That" music video (which, if you ask me, is also just as legendary, Wentworth (who wasn't publicly out at the time) played Mariah's past flame who, from a distance, had to watch as she was about to get married off to a richer, older man (played by Eric Roberts).

Despite Wentworth's brooding and Mariah's dejection as she sings in an empty room while getting ready for her nuptials, the two have their happy ending when Mariah comes to her senses at the altar and runs away to live happily ever after with Wentworth.

While a lot has changed since 2005, Wentworth went on to publicly come out as gay in 2013 and Mariah became even more successful and racked up even more #1 hits, one thing will always remain the same: "We Belong Together" is one of the greatest songs of all time!!!
