Garden of Reflection name reading, 5k run honors victims, first responders

Judi Reiss, the former Bucks County Prothonotary who lost her son, Joshua, on 9/11, said there will be a ceremony on the morning of Monday, Sept. 11, to honor the victims of the terrorist attack at the Garden of Reflection 9/11 Memorial at 1950 Woodside Road in Yardley.

"We are having a small remembrance ceremony at 8:30 a.m., when we will read the names of the Bucks County residents and Pennsylvanians. Over half of the Pennsylvania victims were from Bucks County," Reiss said. "So we will be reading both sets of names, and pausing at the moment when the towers were hit and when the Pentagon was struck. Since it's a working day, we will try to be done by 9:40 a.m. to be respectful to those that want to serve but also have to get to work.

"All of our Bucks County commissioners will be there, and we are still putting together some other details. But the park will be open until dark for anyone to stop by."

The traditional night time ceremony at the memorial is not being held and likely will return at the 25th anniversary.
