Two years following the national lockdown the workforce has a different look, and employees no longer need to rush into the office every day. With that change in work-life culture, remote jobs have hit their highest levels.

SmallPDF released Aug. 20 that ‘Remote jobs’ reached their highest search level on Google in the month of Aug. That is the highest level seen since searches began being recorded in 2004.

“With the pandemic sparking a never before seen influx of opportunities to work from home, interest in remote working may continue to rise over the next decade,” said a spokesperson from SmallPDF.

A WalletHub study noted said, “if remote work is important to you, the leverage is there now more than ever. That being said, a recession is coming, so now is the time to become employed. “

Here are options for remote jobs as well as on-site work in North Louisiana.

Remote careers:

Lead Software Engineer, Android OTT

• Company: Disney Media & Entertainment

• Qualifications: 7+ years of hands-on professional experience with Android development. Experience with working on consumer apps and well-versed in object-oriented, functional and reactive patterns. Preferred Qualifications are that this candidate would have experience building video-based applications and experience using the AndroidX Leanback library to build UIs.

• Salary: Indeed’s estimated salary is $125,000 to $158,000 a year.

Disney is looking for a hands-on engineer. Disney is always finding new ways to interact with fans and with the latest technology. This position will allow for a candidate to show off there work to their friends and family on some of the most heavily used apps in the marketplace.

Marketing Researcher

• Company: Meta

• Qualifications: 8+ years of qualitative and quantitative primary research experience, working on political campaigns or public affairs issues and experience of being a storyteller.

• Salary: Ziprecruiter's estimated salary is $94,997 a year.

Meta is seeking a Marketing Researcher to play an integral role in producing breakthrough messaging, creative and content that helps support Facebook’s comms and policy. Candidates will conduct market research to understand the perspective of critical stakeholder audiences.

Imaging Technician, Animation Screening Operations

• Company: Netflix

• Qualifications: 5+ years of experience working in a post-production, production or studio environment in a client-facing role. Advanced skills in working in software's such as DaVinci Resolve or Colorfront Transkoder. Capable of performing sound/picture level transformations in order to ensure content is playable utilizing command line-based software such as FFMPEG.

Netflix is looking for someone who can provide excellent client support in screening and review rooms, facilitating and operating creative, technical and shot reviews for our filmmakers and creative executives. Candidates should have experience in the field of picture and color post-production and understand current motion picture best practices.

Customer Service Advocate

• Company: UnitedHealthcare

• Qualifications: High school diploma/ GED or higher, and a minimum of 3+ years of combined education, work or volunteer experience.

• Salary: $16 to $26.88 an hour with a sign-on bonus for external candidates of $1,500

This is a full-time telecommunication job, that will require applicants to take as many as 50-70 calls per day to answer questions pertaining to customers’ health benefits.

Novy Unlimited is looking for an experienced game tester who can work remotely in a freelance or independent contractor capacity.
