The Mississippi Coast is one of the more affordable areas in the U.S. for renting an apartment, but prices for a one, two or three bedroom apartment are on the rise.

Last year, the Sun Herald reported that it was near impossible to rent an apartment in South Mississippi, even as prices were on the climb. Wait lists were long, particularly for one bedrooms, at complexes in Gulfport, Biloxi and Ocean Springs.

Data from Redfin shows that apartments across the Coast have increased in price in 2022, but that doesn’t mean apartments aren’t being rented. The Gulfport-Biloxi metro was the top area in the U.S. for new renters in the last quarter, according to data from Rent.com.

We want to hear from you: Has your rent gone up extensively at an apartment or home this year, or will it rise when you sign a lease again? How much will you pay in rent if you renew your lease, and will it take a toll on you financially?

Take our short survey, and we may reach out to you for a future story.
