An “ultra-luxury and all-inclusive” apartment complex is under development in southern Brunswick County.

According to developer Geis Companies, construction on the 11-building, 132-unit apartment development in Calabash began this month. The development – dubbed Calabash Shores – looks to bring ranch-style garden homes and apartment residences to the area.

“Our vision is to understand and support the fundamental emotional, physical and social needs of active adults, and create a living environment that caters entirely to those needs,” said Conrad Geis, President of Geis Development, in a news release. “Calabash Shores will provide the perfect mix of amenities and services, all available in a luxurious and tranquil environment.”

The development is under construction at 139 Marcella Drive in Calabash – close to four beaches. Unit sizes range from one bedroom and one bathroom to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The apartment buildings will be three-stories high, project plans indicate.

The community includes many amenities, such as walking and biking trails, weekly programs at a community clubhouse, workout classes, yoga and more. The all-inclusive rent includes access to these amenities, as well as in-home cleaning services, landscaping services and utilities.

The community looks to attract older adults and will offer resources for seniors, such as a full-time on-site nurse, in-home aide services and prescription assistance programs. The development is also partnering with Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc., to promote the “well-being of active adults within the community.”
