Rentschler Field to allow 100% capacity, tailgating at UConn football games this season

Rentschler Field will allow 100% capacity and tailgating at UConn football home games this season, the school announced Monday.

The Huskies, who did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, open their season on the road at Fresno State on Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. ET and play their first home game on Sept. 4 against Holy Cross at noon ET.

UConn and CBS announced in May the start time for the team’s six home games, which will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

The home game times are as follows:

Sept. 4 vs. Holy Cross, noon

Sept. 11 vs. Purdue, 3 p.m.

Sept. 25 vs. Wyoming, 3:30 p.m.

Oct. 16 vs. Yale, noon

Oct. 22 vs. Middle Tennessee, 6 p.m.

Nov. 27 vs. Houston, 12 p.m.

UConn’s game at Army on Sept. 18 at noon ET will also be televised by CBS Sports Network.

The Huskies, in their first season as an independent program after going 2-10 in 2019, will also play away games against Vanderbilt (Oct. 2), UMass (Oct. 9), Clemson (Nov. 13) and UCF (Nov. 20).

UConn is still developing its promotional schedule, but Fan Fest is set to return. Season tickets will start at $35, and more information can be found here.
