Rentschler Field and CCSU to host CIAC football championships
The state high school football championships will be held at Rentschler Field and Arute Field at Central Connecticut State University, the CIAC announced Wednesday.
Three games will be played at Rentschler and three at Arute on Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The CIAC football playoffs will start Nov. 29 with quarterfinal games.
Both venues have previously hosted state championships. Last year, the finals were played at Veterans Stadium at Willow Brook Park in New Britain and Trumbull High.
The last time the high school championships were played at Rentschler Field was in 2012.
