Rep. Adam Schiff Tests Positive For COVID-19 After Beltway Event

BURBANK, CA — Rep. Adam Schiff, serving a district from Hollywood to Pasadena, has tested positive for COVID-19. The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is among a rash of Washington elites to contract COVID-19 this week.

According to Politico, Schiff was among a group of political leaders and journalists to test positive for the coronavirus after attending the annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington D.C. Schiff did not say when or where he might have contracted the virus.

"This evening, I, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID-19," Schiff tweeted Tuesday. "I'm feeling fine, and grateful to be vaccinated and boosted. In the coming days, I will quarantine and follow CDC guidelines. And remember, please get vaccinated!"

Among others who attended the dinner and then tested positive were keynote speaker Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, and Reps Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) and Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), Politico reported.

The 61-year-old congressman is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and has represented California's 28th Congressional District since 2013. The district includes West Hollywood, Burbank, parts of Pasadena, Glendale, Sunland, Tujunga, Hollywood, the Hollywood Hills, Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz.
