Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming lost her re-nomination to the state’s lone congressional seat. Cheney was defeated by former President Donald Trump endorsed candidate, Harriet Hageman. Cheney, vice chair of the House select committee investigating the insurrection, is among the 10 House Republicans that voted to impeach Donald Trump after the events of January 6th. Cheney is the fourth Republican incumbent to be defeated by a Trump backed primary challenger this midterm election cycle.

CHENEY: Two years ago, I won this primary with 73% of the vote. I could easily have done the same again, the path was clear but it would have required that I go along with President Trump's lie about the 2020 election, it would have required that I enable his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system and attack the foundations of our Republic. That was a path I could not and would not take.
