Rep. Matt Gaetz and his wife went to see the new ‘Barbie’ movie. Then came the review

Many grown-ups, especially those of us who obsessively played with the dolls as kids, will fess up to being pretty psyched to see “Barbie,” the brand’s first live action movie.

Even Rep. Matt Gaetz and his wife Ginger Luckey went out all out, decked in pink for a screening on Monday while out west for the Aspen Security Forum.

Luckey posted a snap of her and her man, all smiles while striking a pose on a pink carpet, but then the reviews came rolling in if you stayed long enough on her feed to read the caption.

“Thinking about watching the Barbie movie? I’d recommend sticking to getting outfit inspiration and skipping the theater,” wrote the food industry analyst who married the pol in 2021.

“The Barbie I grew up with was a representation of limitless possibilities, embracing diverse careers and feminine empowerment,” complained the California native. “The 2023 Barbie movie, unfortunately, neglects to address any notion of faith or family, and tries to normalize the idea that men and women can’t collaborate positively (yuck).”

Producer and star Margot Robbie may take issue with her negative review.

“We wanted Barbie Land to feel incredibly inclusive. And we wanted this film to feel like everyone was welcome,” the actress said in an interview with Attitude. “So, it was so important that, kind of, every person that was, like, coming aboard the party would be able to represent someone else that could be watching this movie.”

Luckey did at least give props to Robbie for her performance in the lengthy post, but her costar? Not so much.

Ryan Gosling’s Ken had “disappointingly low T,” as in low testosterone, and “major beta energy,” basically calling the “The Notebook” heartthrob a wimp.

Maybe we should have a chat with Eva Mendes, the mother of Gosling’s two kids, about that one.
