Rep. Scott Franklin to host event for veterans in Lakeland on Nov. 18

U.S. Rep. Scott Franklin, R-Lakeland, will host a Vet Fest on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland.

The community event will inform veterans of available resources and provide on-site support from the Department of Veterans Affairs and other veterans service organizations, Franklin said in a news release. The event will include enrollment/eligibility, toxic exposure screening, Veterans Benefits Administration claims assistance and education tables to include women’s health, mental health/suicide prevention, vet center, environmental health registries, clinical contact center, whole health, homeless programs and social workers.

The event will include representatives from James A. Haley VA Hospital. Parking and admission are free, and no advance registration or sign-up is required.
