Repairs close lanes in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Drivers should expect double lane closures as crews make repairs to the MD 355 bridge (Rockville Pike) over the outer loop of I-495 (Capital Beltway).

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will begin the repairs on Jan. 24 and is hoping to finish on Jan. 26 if the weather permits.

Crews will close two right lanes on Jan. 24 beginning 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. and then close two left lanes on Jan. 25 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Jan. 26.

Drivers should expect delays and add extra time to their commutes during the project.

Arrow boards and barrels will be put out on the roads to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers are asked to go slowly down the work zone as crews work on the repairs.
