Report: Anthony Davis has worked on shot mechanics during rehab

The Los Angeles Lakers could soon get major help in the form of Anthony Davis.

Davis has been upgraded from out to questionable for Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat. He is expected to be a game-time decision.

Davis has been out since Dec. 17 when he sprained his MCL against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers have sorely needed his presence on the court, especially on the defensive end. L.A. has survived without him by using LeBron James at center, but getting Davis back in the rotation will be huge.

On top of that, Davis has worked on improving his jumper while sidelined, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

Davis has used the rehabilitation to work on not only his knee but his shot mechanics as well, sources told ESPN.

Davis hasn’t shot well from outside of the paint, going just 32%. His 3-point percentage is 17.9%, so it’ll be interesting to see how the eight-time All-Star looks when he returns.
