The Arizona Cardinals appear set to clear more salary cap space for the start of NFL free agency next week, as they are reportedly going to move on from center Rodney Hudson and wide receiver Chosen (formerly Robbie) Anderson.

ESPN was first to report that Hudson is expected to retire. NFL Media reported the potential cutting of Hudson and Anderson, two players who did not produce much last season as Cardinals.

Hudson contemplated retirement last summer but ultimately decided to come back and play. The three-time former Pro Bowler played just four games last season and couldn't come back from a knee injury.

Billy Price finished up the season at center and did an admirable job, but the Cardinals missed Hudson's ability and leadership on an offensive line that was beset with injuries.

Hudson reduced his salary last season. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Nov. 12.

Anderson arrived to the Cardinals via a trade for draft picks in mid-October. But the veteran target didn't produce much, registering seven catches for 76 yards in 10 games. Anderson had 13 catches in six games with the Carolina Panthers before being traded.

NFL Media's Ian Rappaport said the Cardinals will save $12 million against the salary cap by releasing Anderson. Arizona is already well under the cap as free agency looms next Monday.
