Report: Clayton Kershaw will sign new one-year deal with Dodgers

Three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw isn't going anywhere, agreeing to a new one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday pending a physical, according to The Athletic.

The deal is worth $17 million plus incentives, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Kershaw has spent his entire 14-year career with the Dodgers and helped the team reach the playoffs in each of the past nine seasons, including a World Series title in 2020, the franchise's first since 1988.

The 33-year-old lefty went 10-8 with a 3.55 ERA in 22 starts for Los Angeles in 2021 but missed the playoffs due to an elbow injury.

Kershaw southpaw re-joins a deep Dodgers rotation that has Walker Buehler, Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin, Andrew Heaney and David Price in the mix. Trevor Bauer, the 2020 NL Cy Young winner, had his administrative leave extended by the league on Friday.

Kershaw won the NL Cy Young award in 2011, 2013 and 2014 and the NL MVP award in 2014 – but hasn't made 30 starts in a season since 2015.

An eight-time All-Star, Kershaw is 185-84 with a 2.49 ERA in his career and made $31 million in 2021.
