Former New England Patriot Danny Amendola is calling it a career.

The wide receiver told ESPN’s Adam Schefter Monday he is retiring from the NFL, saying his career was “better than I could have ever imagined.”

During his five seasons in New England, Amendola was a favorite target of Tom Brady’s and played an integral role on the 2014 and 2016 championship teams.

Amendola had 6,212 receiving yards, 617 receptions and 24 receiving touchdowns in 13 seasons in the NFL. He played stints with the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and most recently the Houston Texans.
