Head coach Brett Brown and general manager Elton Brand are two of the primary figures in the spotlight as the Sixers enter an offseason that promises to be eventful.

In a story published Monday morning, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported several details on Brown, Brand and the Sixers' approach.

With Brown, Charania said the Sixers are "expected to part ways." He names current Sixers assistant Ime Udoka, Clippers assistant Tyronn Lue, former Kings head coach Dave Joerger and Villanova's Jay Wright as potential candidates to replace Brown. Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix reported there is "mutual interest" between the Sixers and Lue.

As for Brand, Charania notes he "has maintained a healthy relationship with ownership" - something that appears to be of particular importance in this organization - and remains "well-respected" around the NBA.

Brand committed to Tobias Harris and Al Horford long-term this past summer, decisions that certainly didn't pan out well in 2019-20.

The final item of note from The Athletic's report is that the "franchise remains committed to building around All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons." Simmons' season-ending left knee injury left the Sixers without their best, most versatile defender in the playoffs, and they were swept by the Celtics. Both stars are locked into long-term deals.

Embiid discussed his future Sunday, saying he'd still like to end his career in Philadelphia and win a championship with the Sixers.
