LOS ANGELES — Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies is not expected to face a suspension after being ejected in Saturday's Game 3 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN.

Brooks picked up a flagrant-two foul with 11 minutes, 43 seconds left in the third quarter after he hit Lakers star LeBron James in the groin area. The contact was deemed excessive enough for Brooks to be hit with an automatic ejection, but Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant didn't agree with the call.

The Grizzlies are back on the road against the Lakers for Game 4 on Monday (9 p.m., TNT, Bally Sports Southeast) in the first-round Western Conference series.

Brooks did not speak to media after Saturday's game.

"I felt he was ejected because of past ejections that was made in games before," Morant said. "I mean, if you look at the play, he was actually reaching for the ball on a crossover. LeBron just went behind the back. Obviously got hit somewhere it’s tough for a man. Flagrant 1, OK. Ejection, I don’t agree with it at all. It’s pretty much out of my hands. Hopefully we have him for Game 4.”

One reason why Brooks' Game 4 status was a talking point was because the NBA had just suspended Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green for one playoff game after he picked up a Flagrant 2 foul. The league determined that Green's history played a role in the decision to ultimately suspend him.

A little less than a year ago, Brooks was suspended for a playoff game against the Warriors after committing a hard against Gary Payton II. Brooks was adamant about the hard foul not being a dirty play.

Grizzlies players described Brooks as "remorseful" after the loss to the Lakers. He high-fived teammates and cheered them on in the second half from the locker room.

"We need him out there the whole game," Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard said.

Brooks finished with seven points on 3-for-13 shooting. His lackluster performance came after calling James "old" after the Game 2 win.

Lakers fans responded on Saturday by booing Brooks whenever his name was said by the public address announcer. The loudest moments came whenever Brooks missed a shot and when he was ejected from the game.
