Jul. 26—Two women who died in severe flash flooding Thursday in Tecolote Canyon were from Hale County in West Texas.

A report from Fox News' Lubbock, Texas, affiliate identified them as Jane Cummings, 62, and her mother, 84-year-old Betty Greenhaw.

The report said Cummings' daughter Michelle Post confirmed the women's identities and said her father, Chris Cummings, 62, remained missing as of Tuesday morning.

The women's bodies were found Thursday afternoon after heavy rains struck the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar. The San Miguel County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico National Guard, New Mexico State Police and other agencies have been searching for Chris Cummings since he went missing.
