Report: Isaiah Jackson, Cameron Thomas withdraw from NBA draft combine
Kentucky forward Isaiah Jackson and LSU guard Cameron Thomas have each reportedly withdrawn from the NBA draft combine, according to Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated.
The draft combine is set to begin on Monday and run through Sunday at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The NBA announced last week that 69 players were expected to attend the event but that number will now shrink by two with Jackson and Thomas opting out.
Of course, the news of Jackson and Thomas withdrawing from the combine could mean they have received a first-round promise from a team. Players that skip the event often feel that attending is not needed after securing a potential promise.
Both players are projected to be mid-to-late first-round picks.

Jackson was named to the SEC All-Defensive team after averaging 8.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots in 25 games as a freshman. He led all SEC players in blocks while he ranked 15th in the nation, recording at least three blocks in nine games.
Thomas earned All-SEC First Team honors after averaging 23 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 29 games with the Tigers. He led all freshman players in the country in scoring and finished with 22 20-point games, the most in program history since Shaquille O’Neal in 1992.
The NBA draft is scheduled to take place on July 29.
