MLB has extended Trevor Bauer's administrative leave through July 27, according to multiple reports

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher was initially placed on leave on July 2 after allegations of sexual assault surfaced. Bauer has denied the allegations. Baseball extended his leave by seven days on July 14 prior to Wednesday's second extension.

His leave will now extend beyond the scheduled July 23 hearing over the temporary ex parte restraining order, when he is expected to contest the allegations. MLB is presumably waiting for more information on the case before making a firm decision on any potential league discipline. Bauer has not been charged with a crime as law enforcement officials continue to investigate the allegations.

Bauer continues to collect his salary of roughly $1.5 million per week while on leave. He would not necessarily be paid in the case of a suspension.

Allegations against Bauer

Bauer stands accused of assaulting a woman during sexual encounters on two separate occasions. According to the temporary restraining order with detailed descriptions of the alleged encounters obtained by The Athletic's Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang, Bauer's accuser connected with him on Instagram and drove from San Diego to Los Angeles to meet him in person on April 21.

Per the reported allegations, the two were engaged in consensual sex when Bauer asked her if she'd ever been choked. She said yes before Bauer eventually allegedly wrapped her hair around her neck and choked her unconscious without her consent. When she woke up, Bauer was allegedly engaged in nonconsensual anal sex, according to the report.

The woman told Bauer she did not enjoy anal sex and thought she had an understanding with him before agreeing to consensual sex again on May 15, per the report. This time, the woman says that Bauer choked her again to unconsciousness before punching her repeatedly in the head and choking her to unconsciousness once more.

Per the temporary restraining order, the woman provided photos of herself with black eyes, a bloodied lip and scratches on her face. She also said that CT scans showed “significant head and facial trauma."

Bauer's team denies any nonconsensual acts

Bauer's representatives denied the allegations and provided text messages of their correspondence and a statement to Yahoo Sports to back up his claim. Per the statement from agent Jon Fetterolf, their encounters were "wholly consensual" and that Bauer's accuser repeatedly asked "for 'rough' sexual encounters involving requests to be 'choked out.'"

The statement also contends that Bauer's accuser "deliberately omits key facts, information, and her own relevant communications" in her claims.

Fetterolf and co-agent Rachel Luba continued to deny the allegations in a July 8 statement after MLB initially extended Bauer's administrative leave:

“We continue to refute [the woman’s] allegations in the strongest possible terms and Mr. Bauer vehemently denies her account of the two meetings.

“Again, administrative leave is neither a disciplinary action, nor does it in any way reflect a finding in the league’s investigation.”

Bauer last pitched for the Dodgers on June 28.
