Report: Nick Sirianni a ‘legitimate candidate’ for Eagles HC job

Indianapolis Colts offensive coordiantor Nick Sirianni got his first interview for a vacant head coach role this offseason when the Philadelphia Eagles brought him in on Tuesday.

While defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus has been getting plenty of attention, Sirianni is another piece of the puzzle that could be getting more attention.

It appears the interview went well on Tuesday and that Sirianni is a legitimate candidate for the vacant role, per Mike Kaye of NJ.com.

Sirianni has been with the Colts since Frank Reich took over as head coach during the 2018 offseason. As much love as Reich gets from Philly, they would likely be intrigued by a candidate that comes from his tree.

Though Sirianni doesn’t call the plays for the Colts offense, he is a major part of the game planning and play designs from week to week. His work may be a little more behind the scenes, but he’s certainly due his credit.

The Eagles have a lot of candidates for this job interviewing, but it seems Sirianni is near the top of the list. We’ll see if it amounts to anything.
