Report: Panthers not on Russell Wilson’s preferred list of potential trade destinations

Russell Wilson is apparently pretty upset with the Seahawks. Upset enough to broach the subject of a trade with their front office, anyway. Since the Panthers have been involved in practically every veteran QB trade discussion this offseason, it only makes sense that they’d be one of the teams that should be interested – especially since the Texans are still insisting Deshaun Watson is not available.

That said, it sounds like Wilson would not welcome a trade to the Panthers in any case. According to his agent, Wilson has actually not asked for a trade – but if he did – Carolina is not on the list, per Adam Schefter at ESPN.

The common denominator here is they’re all potential playoff teams in 2021 even if Wilson isn’t their starter. That just doesn’t apply to the Panthers. For now, we can assume Carolina won’t be one of the teams in the mix for Wilson.
