Report: Patriots captain David Andrews may have serious injury

While the Patriots escaped Sunday’s game against the Jets with a win, they may have lost one of the team’s strongest on and off-the-field leaders.
Center David Andrews left the game in the first half after suffering an apparent thigh injury while serving as the leader blocker on a Rhamondre Stevenson screen pass. Andrews limped off the field, unable to put much weight on his injured leg, and immediately headed into the Patriots’ locker room.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rappaport, the Patriots captain will undergo more testing on the thigh injury but team officials are not expecting good news.

Andrews was playing in his first game since suffering a concussion against the Chicago Bears in Week 7 and was replaced in the game by James Ferentz.
Andrews’ loss would be massive for an offensive line that has already had issues protecting their quarterback throughout the season and is tied for the eight most sacks allowed in the league.
Tackle Isaiah Wynn was also forced to exit Sunday’s game with a foot injury.
