The New England Patriots could be without a key offensive player for the foreseeable future, according to a report.

Star running back Damien Harris will likely miss multiple games with a hamstring injury, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported.

“Still getting tests, but the expectation is he’ll be out for a bit,” Pelissero said in a tweet.

Harris suffered the injury in Sunday’s victory over the Detroit Lions. He has racked up 257 rushing yards and three touchdowns so far this season.

Rhamondre Stevenson will serve as New England’s lead back while Harris is out of the lineup. The second-year player out of Oklahoma has found success on the ground, averaging 5.5 yards a carry through five games.

Pierre Strong, J.J. Taylor, and Kevin Harris are also candidates to see work behind Stevenson.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
