Report: Ravens DBs coach Jesse Minter to join Vanderbilt as defensive coordinator

The Ravens are looking at another opening within their defensive coaching staff.

Defensive backs coach Jesse Minter is expected to be named the defensive coordinator at Vanderbilt, according to multiple reports.

Minter just finished his fourth season with the Ravens and his first coaching defensive backs. He joined the staff in 2017 as a defensive assistant, working closely with pass defense coordinator Chris Hewitt.

Minter, the son of former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Rick Minter, previously served as a defensive coordinator at Georgia State and Indiana State.

The Ravens already lost former linebackers coach Mike Macdonald, who on Sunday was named the next defensive coordinator at Michigan. And the team could see more assistants leave the organization. The Houston Texans announced Monday that they had conducted an interview with assistant head coach David Culley for their head coaching vacancy. Defensive line coach Joe Cullen is also reportedly expected to interview this week for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ opening at defensive coordinator.
