The Dallas Stars are expected to sign Joe Pavelski to a three-year contract once NHL free agency opens on July 1, TSN’s Darren Dreger reports.

The 34-year-old has spent all 13 seasons of his career with the San Jose Sharks and has been the team’s captain since October 2015.

Pavelski notched 38 goals and 64 points in 75 games last season, adding four goals and nine points in 13 playoff games.

One of the greatest players in Sharks history, Pavelski broke onto the scene as a revelation for the club after being selected in the seventh round of the 2003 NHL Draft.

Pavelski will be joined by Corey Perry, who is expected to sign a one-year, $1.5 million deal, according to TSN’s Frank Seravalli.

Perry has spent the first 14 years of his career with the Anaheim Ducks, but was bought out by the team on June 19.

The veteran forward helped Canada win gold at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics, was a big part of the Ducks’ Stanley Cup victory in 2007 and won both the Rocket Richard and Hart Trophy in 2011.

Perry notched six goals and 10 points in 31 games last season after recovering from serious knee surgery. Perhaps the change of scenery will help revitalize his performance.
