Tennessee Titans release WR Josh Gordon, sign C.J. Board to practice squad

The Tennessee Titans released wide receiver Josh Gordon from the practice squad on Monday.

Gordon, 31, signed with the Titans in September and was called up twice to the active roster in games against the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders. He played a total of 24 snaps but did not have any catches.

Earlier in his career Gordon played for the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.

PAINFUL TRUTH:Familiar storyline for Titans as injuries are piling up

In a corresponding move, the Titans signed wide receiver C.J. Board, who played high school football in Clarksville, to the practice squad.

The 6-foot-1, 181-pound Board has played in 24 NFL games since signing as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2017. His career totals are 17 receptions for 183 yards.

He played in 20 games the past two seasons with the New York Giants, making 15 receptions for 152 yards.

Board, 28, also played for Jacksonville (2019) and Cleveland (2018).

Board was a star player at West Creek and played for Chattanooga in college, starting 47 games. He had 146 receptions for 2,032 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Mocs.
