The NBA trade deadline is set for Feb. 9 and now is the time for teams to really buckle down and decide what they’re going to do with their deadline plans. Now is the time for teams to figure out how they’re going to improve themselves for the future.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of those teams as they continue to build their team for the stretch run in the 2022-23 season as they chase a title. They also have to think about the future and financial issues as they move toward the deadline.

Matisse Thybulle’s name has recently popped up in trade rumors as the Sacramento Kings have expressed interest in him. The Kings want the defensive stud in order to push themselves forward in the West and make the playoffs for the first time since 2006.

Now, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Golden State Warriors have an interest in him as well.

Per Pompey:

Multiple NBA sources said the Golden State Warriors have had internal discussions about Thybulle and that they do like him as a defensive stopper. The Sacramento Kings are also reportedly monitoring his availability. A league source confirmed the interest, saying Kings coach Mike Brown is a fan of Thybulle, who would add a defensive presence to Sacramento’s starting lineup. The Kings (28-21), who surprisingly sit at third place in the Western Conference, are pondering upgrades for a postseason push after an NBA-record 16 straight seasons without a playoff appearance. The Kings’ and Warriors’ interest makes sense and is something to pay attention to.

It would be interesting to see what happens with Thybulle. If it’s the Warriors, then a multi-team trade might have to happen in order to make that work considering Golden State might not have what Philadelphia wants in order to move forward in the East.
