Republican primary results are in for Steuben, Allegany counties. See the winners.

Republican voters in 12 towns across Steuben and Allegany counties chose candidates in party primaries Tuesday for the November general election.

The 2023 General Election will be held on Nov. 7.

Steuben County

Here are the unofficial primary results from seven towns in Steuben County, according to the Board of Elections. Unofficial winners are in bold. The Republican primary candidates for town supervisor in Rathbone are separated by only one vote.

Addison

Town Supervisor: Jack Thompson defeated Jeffrey BeGell, 106-40.

Town Council member: David Miller, 101 votes, and Joseph D. Trappler, 81 votes, won the nominations. Brandon Conklin had 73 votes

Supervisor of Highways: Kenneth R. Peoples, Jr. bested Jason M. Smith, 87-59.

Bath

County legislator, District 3: Nicholas Pelham defeated Dean Rawleigh, 332-247.

Town Supervisor: Joshua Buck was the winner over Ronald C. Smith, 440-155

Town Council member: David Wager, with 442 votes, and Dustin Buck, 309, were the top vote-getters. Michael D. Walden finished with 191 votes, while William Glosick had 178.

Campbell

Town Council member: Glenn A. Vogel, 112 votes, and Norman Maynard, 106, topped the field. James F. Drumm had 82 votes.

Caton

Town Council member: Emily M. Gridley won a Republican nomination with 151 votes, followed by a second winner, Eric M. Hurd, with 147. Timothy R. Scott received 97 votes, while Edward J. Rose earned 95.

Rathbone

Town Supervisor: Marjorie A. Smith led Russell W. Morseman III in a tight race, 96-95.

Town Clerk: Mary E. Jacobson defeated Barbara A. Hargrave, 118-77.

Town Council member: Eric Bump finished on top of a four-candidate slate with 99 votes. Lanny R. Newell was in position for the second nomination with 78 votes. William J. Reagan had 76 votes and Brian Wilson had 75.

Superintendent of Highways: Dan Barney won with 85 votes. Nathan E. McChesney had 70 and Duane M. Miles earned 38.

Troupsburg

Town Supervisor: Tonya R. Tompkins defeated Kenneth A. LeCrone, Jr., 29-23.

Wayland

Town Supervisor: Gary Willyerd topped Carol E. Mykel, 106-96.

Town Council member: Brian Logsdon, 161 votes, Robert Reigelsperger, 130 votes, won the nominations. Jackie Wheaton finished with 105 votes.

Allegany County

Unofficial Republican primary results from five towns in Allegany County, according to the Board of Elections. Winners are in bold.

Allen

Town Council member: Jeff Steadman and Richard Hunt finished with 38 and 37 votes, respectively. Judith A. Allen had 13 votes and Edgar J. Allen, Jr. had 11.

Almond

Town Supervisor: Daniel P. Hegarty was the winner over Jo-Anne Freeland, 57-27.

Angelica

Town Council member: William C. Weaver was the top vote-getter with 66. Elwyn C. Gordon was also nominated with 63 votes. Donald C. Case finished with 33.

Friendship

Town Council member: Linda Mascho received 50 votes, followed by Carolyn Carney with 49 and Michelle Baker with 45.

Wirt

Town Council member: Mike Scott and Rob Putnam won the nominations, with 66 and 65 votes, respectively. Alice J. Dunbar had 47 votes.

Superintendent of Highways: John Sheets defeated Curtis Rung, Sr., 73-33.
