As voters begin heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the midterm elections, many contests have already been decided in Gaston County. But there are a few key races that are still undecided, and it’s important to know who the real conservatives are.

Perhaps no local race is more critical and more competitive than the race for N.C. Superior Court. As we’ve seen in recent years, our courts have become more important than ever as radical Democrats on our courts attempt to use their power to force their agenda, even if it means overruling the very will of the people that elected them.

Here in Gaston County, we have the opportunity to elect Justin Davis, a lifelong conservative with more than 20 years of legal experience. Justin's experience includes handling cases at every level of the N.C. courts as well as involvement in federal cases.

Compare that to his opponent: a lifelong Democrat with much less legal experience, appointed by Roy Cooper to fill a vacancy left by his own father’s retirement.

Justin has been practicing law for twice the amount of time and has a much broader field of experience. Let’s take the opportunity to tell Roy Cooper that our courts are more important than playing political, nepotistic games.

Elect Justin Davis for N.C. Superior Court and help restore a conservative judicial philosophy to our courts.

We also must be sure to elect true Conservative candidates to our school board. There are many people claiming to be conservative candidates, but only four have been vetted and endorsed by the Gaston County Republican Party.

Dot Cherry (at large) and A.M. Stephens III (Riverbend Township) are conservatives running unopposed for their respective seats.

In the Dallas Township, Josh Crisp is the conservative candidate running for his first term against a left-leaning opponent. In the South Point Township, Tod Kinlaw is the only Republican-endorsed conservative running in a crowded field of candidates claiming to be conservatives.

Josh Crisp and Tod Kinlaw have what it takes to represent our conservative values on the school board. They will help our conservative majority continue to protect our students, teachers, and school staff.

Don’t be fooled by candidates who say what they think you want to hear to get your vote. Be sure to cast your vote for these true conservatives up and down the ballot.
