Washington County Republicans to open headquarters

The Washington County Republican Party will have a grand opening of its new headquarters at 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at 120 East Oak Ridge Drive, Suite 1900, in Hagerstown, according to a news release from Jerry DeWolf, chairman of the Washington County Republican Central Committee.

The headquarters, across from AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care, will be shared with the headquarters for Neil Parrott for Congress, according to the release.

The grand opening will start with a rendition of the national anthem sung by Del. Brenda Thiam, followed by Republican candidates for office, a ribbon-cutting and other festivities.

Refreshments will be available, along with opportunities to volunteer to help the Republican Party or specific candidates

The headquarters' regular hours will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. Those interested can change their party affiliation to Republican, and campaign signs, literature and materials will be available.

Western Maryland 1st slate to hold fundraiser at Antietam Brewery

A group of Republican state lawmakers are holding a fundraiser Sept. 12 they're billing as a rally "to put #WesternMaryland1st".

State Sen. Paul D. Corderman, R-Washington, Maryland House of Delegates Minority Leader Jason Buckel, R-Allegany, and Del. Brenda J. Thiam, R-Washington, will be at Antietam Brewery, 140 Western Maryland Parkway near Hagerstown, from 5 to 7 p.m.

GOP Central Committee Pig Roast planned for Sept. 21

The Washington County Republican Central Committee also is holding its second annual pig roast on Sept. 21 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the North American Rod & Gun Club, 12108 Belvedere Road east of Hagerstown.

Dinner and performance to benefit Parrott campaign

Del. Neil Parrott, who is running for Maryland's 6th Congressional District seat, and Rick Bibbee, Interludes With Impact, are hosting a dinner and show fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Maugansville Community Center, 18007 Maugansville Road.

The show will feature Wendell Live, a singer billed as "Las Vegas Hits with a Shot of Pop." A non-tax-deductible donation fo $65 for individuals and $100 for couples includes dinner, dessert and beverages, according to a flyer for the event.
