Rescue Operations Carried Out During Heavy Flooding in Northern Ireland

Firefighters rescued six people from floodwaters following heavy rain in Northern Ireland between July 23 and the early hours of July 24, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said.

NIFRS said it rescued one person from a vehicle in water and five people trapped in flooded properties. It said it received a total of 106 emergency flood related calls, which resulted in firefighters responding to 49 operational incidents.

The Met Office had issued a yellow warning for rain for Northern Ireland.
