Residents asked for views on town centre revamps
Residents have been asked for their views on regenerating two town centres.
West Northamptonshire Council has opened a consultation regarding plans for Daventry and possible improvements in Brackley.
Nearby Northampton is currently undergoing a £33m revamp.
Council cabinet member Dan Lister said the local area offered "a unique destination for every resident, visitor, business and investor".
In Daventry, the authority has a masterplan that aims to "reinvent the market town experience".
It includes turning Market Square into a flexible events space, which could also be used as a market, and creating a new play park and café at New Street Rec.
The plan will also improve the High Street and Sheaf Street, and see the building of new homes on Eastern Way.
Mr Lister, cabinet member for local economy, culture and leisure on the Conservative-led council, said the aims were "improving public spaces, enhancing play spaces and celebrating local cultures and heritage".
He said the council wanted Daventry to be an "improved and welcoming space for people to come together to eat, play and relax".
In Brackley, residents and businesses have been asked to share their ideas about enhancing the town and any improvements they would like to see made to the High Street.
Among the ideas were improving marketing in the town and a loyalty card to encourage spending in local shops.
Mr Lister said Brackley was "one of the gems in West Northamptonshire's crown".
Daventry's consultation is open until 13 June and Brackley's until 26 May.
