Residents of Christchurch, New Zealand, were treated to an early Spring snow storm on the morning of Monday, September 6.

This footage, filmed by Instagram user @jayemercury shows a snow flurry hitting the city early on Monday morning.

According to the MetService a cold front travelling up from Antarctica caused the dramatic drop in temperatures.
