Residents continue search for Sellersville woman who went missing a month ago

Residents are organizing another search in an attempt to find a Sellersville woman who went missing a month ago.

The community organized search for Elizabeth "Beth" Capaldi will be held at the Nockamixon State Park at the marina parking lot 10 a.m. Saturday.

Organizer Jen Krauss, of Quakertown, said Saturday will mark the third large organized effort to find Capaldi, 55, who was last seen in her home near the intersection of High and East Church streets in the early morning hours of Oct. 10.

Capaldi lives at the home with her husband, who police believe was the last person to see her. Her daughter reported her missing on Oct. 12, after she had not heard from her, which was uncharacteristic of Capaldi, according to authorities.

Some of her belongings, including her wallet, were missing from her home, however her keys, car and cellphone were left behind. Authorities have not released any additional information beyond the initial new conference on her disappearance.

Krauss said there had been two large organized searches the wooded areas and park near Capaldi's home. Krauss, who does not know Capaldi, said she felt compelled to help. She and another community member have been coordinating the search efforts on social media.

"I can’t help but thinking it could be any one of us," she said.

At the last search, residents were given maps and grids to target and organize their efforts. That will again be the case Saturday.

Krauss said the park is the next logical, public space they can check after they have exhausted all public options near Capaldi's home.

She estimated there were about 50 people at the first search and 75 at the second. The community, she said, has been great in getting the word out and handing out signs.

“It’s amazing that people are willing to step up and do this and we really appreciate it," he said.

Those who wish to participate Saturday are required to wear orange because it is hunting season.

A Bucks County District Attorney's Office spokesman said Thursday there was no additional information to release on the case. Attempts to reach Perkasie Police for additional information were unsuccessful.

Capaldi is described as 5-foot-6 with brown and gray hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information on Capaldi's whereabouts is asked to contact Perkasie police at 215-257-6876 or county detectives at 215-348-6354. Tips may also be submitted anonymously at https://bucks.crimewatchpa.com/da.
