Residents escape early morning fire on Eisenhower Drive in Easton

Easton residents escaped an early morning fire on Eisenhower Drive.

Crews were called to 30 Eisenhower Drive just before 3 a.m. for a fire. Officials says the fire was believed to have been burning for some time before fire officials were called.

The fire was brought under control 40 minutes after crews arrived.

Two residents and several pets were in the home at the time of the fire. The residents were able to exit the home with one cat prior to the firefighters’ arrival.

An Easton firefighter later saved the other cat inside the home.

The residents were displaced due to the home sustaining extensive damage. They are currently being assisted by family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but preliminary investigation shows that it was accidental.
