Residents of a Guernsey street say they have been left in the lurch over a number of abandoned cars on the quiet road.

In January St Peter Port constables and residents of Fermain Lane held a meeting with Traffic and Highways and Guernsey Police.

Traffic and Highways said it would review the parking regulations on the road, but residents told BBC Guernsey they haven't heard anything since.

Traffic and Highways declined to comment, and Guernsey Police has also been approached.

The road is often used by islanders and tourists to visit Bluebell Woods and Fermain Bay.

One resident said: "One of the biggest problems for the island is that Bluebell Woods is a fantastic amenity and people can't park just to go and see the bluebells."

A number of residents said they had seen a traffic warden in the area following January's meeting.

Ms Tasker said police notices had been placed on two vehicles which had been there "at least" three years.

"They all have current insurance discs, which is quite outrageous because they are not roadworthy.

"They have been here for so long they have things growing around them, broken windscreen, doors open, flat tyres."

A parking disc zone had been proposed, but the plans were scrapped after significant opposition.

Some residents have also called for time-limited parking along some sections of the road.
