Responders, Families and Friends Honor Victims of Surfside Condo Collapse

Family, friends, and first responders honored the victims of the Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside, Florida, with a moment of silence on Thursday, July 8.

This footage uploaded by Miami-Dade Police shows crowds gathered at the site of the building’s collapse, as a helicopter performed a “special flyover to honor the families and the lives” that were impacted by the tragedy.

Rescue teams identified four additional victims on Thursday, bringing the death tally to 64 people , with 76 people “potentially unaccounted for,” according to Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who spoke at a media briefing on the same day. Credit: Miami-Dade Police via Storyful
