Remember when we were kids and had a mindset full of optimism?

For the most part, I didn't fully understand the sacrifices my parents made for our family. I didn't question or doubt they'd take care of our needs.

However, our eyes are opened to the real world when we become adults. Some of us even develop a strong sense of cynicism and fear.

My mother and father loved me dearly. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for their children. Whenever they'd said they'd do something, in my mind, it was yes and amen.

Well, as noble as their efforts were, God is even better.

The Lord wants us to conduct ourselves as responsible adults. He also wants us always to keep a sense of childlike faith.

No matter your physical age, hold firm to the fruition of his promises.

Speak his faithful word over your family, friends, finances, and every situation in life.

The term childlike faith isn't mentioned in the Bible. However, Jesus referenced children in several passages.

Matthew 18 features the header "The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven."

This chapter begins by stating: "At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." – Matthew 18:1-5 New International Version

Scroll over or turn the pages to Luke 18:17 in the New Living Translation and our Lord says: I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."

These figurative illustrations encourage me never to lose sight of my childlike faith in the power of Jesus.

I asked my savior for healing. He will deliver on his word.

I asked my savior for knowledge, wisdom and understanding. He is downloading spiritual insight to address situations.

I asked my savior for provisions. He is clearing a pathway for bountiful opportunities.

It doesn't matter which stage of adulthood you're in right now. We must never let go of our childlike faith.

Pray, believe and act accordingly with a youthful heart of expectancy.
