Paper Dosa, 551 W. Cordova Road, has been making dining room improvements since December. New lighting and a new mural have been installed and about a third to a half of seating and tables have been replaced. Four booths with facing benches have been replaced with three rounded outward facing booths able to seat six or seven. Some tables and chairs were replaced with bancos. In June, some bancos will be replaced with new ones. Paper Dosa has also started cocktail program, co-owner Nellie Tischler said.

Vinaigrette, 709 Don Curbero Alley, is in its first year as a tipless restaurant. A note on tables announces: "Prices have increased to include service, so you do not need to leave any gratuity on your check. Making and serving food requires skill and hard work. We are proud to pay our whole staff, front and back, a fair wage for their part in making your meal."
