A new restaurant to check out downtown, plus peach recipes and Moore restaurant updates
Hello, Spartanburg foodies!
Here's your weekly food news round up:
On Tuesday, this fun collaboration with three local chefs (Clay McDonough, Bradley Raybuck, and Alison Phelps) went live. McDonough, Raybuck and Phelps shared their best recipes for peach season, and I included a list of local peach sellers so you can get a basket and try these dishes out at home.
There are recipes for a peach paloma, Peach Beef Wellington, and peach cupcakes.

Tuesday was also the day I went to visit Prime Restaurant and Whiskey Lounge, downtown's newest dining option located in the former Peddler location. Owners Steve Taneyhill and Tiffany Lancaster have done a beautiful job of transforming the space, and the menu matches the casual meets fine dining atmosphere. Menu highlights include their bone-in ribeye, lobster ravioli, Oysters Rockefeller, and grilled swordfish.
The restaurant is open for dinner only, but the Whiskey Lounge, which offers 26 varieties of whiskey, starts serving mid-afternoon and is open late.

And finally, last night we shared my interview with Health in Hand owner Emily Vargo as she prepares to open the smoothie and juice bar's second location in Moore's Tyger River Plaza. The official opening day is Monday, but if you're in the area and can't wait, swing by during their soft opening/training day today.
