Restaurant news: Critic's pick five best restaurant menus of September for Flavor Palm Beach

Flavor Palm Beach, the most established of Palm Beach County’s summer dining-deal programs, returns Sept. 1 under new management and with a longer lineup of restaurants. (We’ve listed the five most tempting ones below.)

Ushering in Flavor Palm Beach’s 14th year is marketing executive Kerri Paizzi, the dining campaign’s new owner and manager. She has enlisted more than 60 restaurantsfor this year’s campaign, a notable increase from last year when Flavor Palm Beach drew 45 restaurants after a 2020 pandemic break.

“This year we have about 20% brand new people. I’ve made a couple of changes structurally, but I don’t like to fix what’s not broken,” says Paizzi, who bought the annual discount dining program from founder Briana Beaty last year.

Paizzi, who has worked in the restaurant and marketing worlds for 20 years, is no newcomer to the program — she was active in the promotion when she oversaw marketing efforts at Old Port Cove and The Capital Grille.

Paizzi also has planned an inaugural Flavor Martin County, which starts Oct. 1 and runs throughout that month.

“Martin County has such a hometown feel. It’s a completely different animal than Palm Beach,” says Paizzi, a former Jupiter resident who now lives in Hobe Sound. “I know Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens people are already coming to Martin restaurants.”

A veteran of hospitality marketing, she says she hopes the summer restaurant promotions — which include August’s Palm Beaches Restaurant Month and September’s Downtown Delray Beach Restaurant Month — help lift restaurants from the off-season’s doldrums.

Here are five Flavor menu deals to put on your radar. Prices don’t include tax and tip.
