Restaurant Report: Grub Burger Bar among restaurants busted by inspectors for dirty dining

Action News Jax’s Ben Becker paid a visit to Grub Burger Bar at The Strand at St. Johns Town Center.

State inspectors found four small flying insects, time/temperature safety violations and a mold like substance in an ice machine and it was operating with an expired license.

“So everything is good now?” Becker asked a manager. “Yes sir,” the man responded.

Mr. Taco #6 food truck on Bowden Road near Greenfield Boulevard was cited for eight live roaches, nine dead roaches and raw food not separated from ready to eat food. It was temporarily closed.

Inspectors say Wingin’it food truck on Bay Bridge drive near A1A had seven live roaches, 20 roach droppings and three egg casings, plus it was operating with an expired license. It was temporarily closed.

Becker’s final stop was Jana Steakhouse Restaurant on Durbin Pavilion Drive near Race Track Road was cited for time/temperature safety violations, raw food not separated from ready to eat food and a hand wash sink not accessible for employee use.

All the restaurants passed follow up inspections.
