Restaurant report: Town Center Chick-fil-A cited for ‘temperature abuse” by inspectors

Becker paid a visit to the Chick-fil-A at the Town Center.

State inspectors found one flying insect near a salad prep area, temperature abuse involving half and half milk and an employee’s personal items stored above a food prep area.

“[We] got it all taken care of,” said a manager. “[There] was a back-pack sitting where it didn’t belong.”

Time Out Sports Grill on San Jose Boulevard near Haley Road was cited for two flies in the rear kitchen, a chemical spray bottle stored over spices and no monitoring of partially cooked chicken wings.

Inspectors say Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club on Royal St. Augustine Parkway near State Road 16 had 20 live roaches, 60 dead roaches and grease and food debris under fryers. It was temporarily closed.

Becker’s final stop, La Hacienda III on Grill Avenue near State Road 20 was cited for ten rodent droppings, raw beef stored over unwashed peppers and time/temperature safety violations. It was temporarily closed.

All the restaurants passed follow-up inspections.
