WELLINGTON — One Cuban-inspired café and three stores selling jewelry, sneakers and health supplements are in at the Mall at Wellington Green — and a longtime restaurant is out.

The Ford Garage restaurant closed this month. It made the announcement by posting a sign on the the restaurant's doors and on Facebook saying the closure was due to "real estate issues out of our control."

"We look forward to keeping a market presence in the near future," read the post.

  • Q'Bola cafe: A family-owned Latin-inspired eatery serving Cuban coffee, soft empanadas and crunchy croquetas. The café also offers sandwiches, spaghetti and its signature "salchipapa," a dish with sautéed sausages and french fries.

  • Laced: The Boston-based store is filled with hard-to-find sneakers from Nike, Yeezy, and Supreme. Customers can also sell their collectable sneakers on consignments. Other stores are in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton.

  • Jewelry Box: The family-owned jewelry store with more than 5,000 pieces in display featuring diamond-looking necklaces, earrings and bracelets dipped in white gold, with everything priced at less than $250.

  • PICI Nutrition: A health-and-wellness store features probiotics, pre-workout supplements and protein powders.

The mall, at Forest Hill Boulevard and State Road 7, opened in 2001 and has more than 160 stores, including both anchor tenants such as Macy's, JC Penney and Dillard's, and smaller, popular stores for cosmetics, footwear and more.

The mall is working to bring in new retailers after coping with the the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic and losing its Nordstrom department store in 2019.
