Restaurant Week kicks off at 60 eateries in Sarasota, Longboat Key, Lakewood Ranch

Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week is back June 1-14, and it’s a tantalizing chance to explore Southwest Florida’s dining scene.

More than 60 restaurants around Sarasota, University Town Center, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key, Venice and beyond will offer special prix-fixe menus that show off what their chefs have to offer.

Diners can expect to pay $25 per person for lunch (appetizer and entree) and $40 per person for dinner (appetizer, entree and dessert). Meal upgrades and wine and spirit pairings will be available at many of the participating restaurants.

The event is hosted by tourism promoters Visit Sarasota County, and it’s in its 18th year. Restaurant Week has grown to include a bigger slice of the Sarasota area and more diversity in dining options.

“The menus are as diverse as our diners,” Visit Sarasota County vice president Erin Duggan said in a news release. “Our restaurants stepped up and created some impressive lunch and dinner menus this year.”

In Lakewood Ranch for instance, diners can pop into Libby’s Neighborhood Brasserie and try a choice of soup or salad for a starter, choose one of six entree options (“Dr. Pepper Ribs,” orange chicken, cauliflower steak and honey bourbon salmon among them) and finish with a chocolate cake or strawberry shortcake dessert.

Diners who share their experiences on Instagram with the hashtag #SavorSarasota could win a $50 restaurant gift card.
